Summertime~
A time to rest, reset, recharge…
Hello! I've been doing a lot of mulling these past few weeks of summer. Not just of spices, or fruit, lol, but of where I've been and where I am going. Seems like summer is a great time to do this kind of inventory on self and of our pantry's! For real.
If you've been following me for awhile now, you know that I am Queen of reinvention. I don't think we give enough props to women who change courses in life, to follow their dreams and yes, for survival. I think today's generation, late teens - twenties, have an entirely different mindset in achieving their goals. They're here for the adventure, the experience, achieving their goals will come when they're ready. Refreshing. For me, when I was in my late teens and early twenties, achieving my goals was a means out of a way of life that was old-fashioned and restrictive. Life happened along the way, some life was very good, and some life, not so much. The bad forced me to recognize my courage, strength and voice. Powerful tools that may not have come otherwise. Do we focus too much on getting it right than the immeasurable gifts from when things go wrong? Success is not as delicious without failure, in fact in order to understand, perceive success we need to feel it's opposite; loss, missteps, accidents, the occasional “oopsie daisy”.
We cannot become better, if we do not fail, or suffer discomfort, we cannot grow. There's so much noise and expectation out in the ether about when all this should happen, as if we are to arrive at a destination and therefore be done. As for me I decided long ago that I'm not done till I'm dead! (Ya' feel me?). Yet, I am guilty of adding to this void, too. If this resonates with you, I'm sure you too have had to find ways to quiet that noise and those voices that deter you from your true path. For me it's become a practice of manifesting meditation; of setting intentional strategic goals in the form of planning, accountability and foremost, reviewing my wins, my growth. From the age of four, my path was as clear to me as the keyboard on my laptop is now. Almost a half a century later, I'm back on track. Yeah, there was a lot of noise. But, to say they were mistakes, would diminish the wonders, the gifts, the blessings I have because the path took on more curves and missteps than I could have foreseen. Maybe my suffering from occasional vertigo is a result of all the twists and turns. Meh, a small price to pay, I say. ;) Today, I have arrived at a place of such clarity, but it comes after weeks of doing the work without seeing any results. It comes from fog, from faith, from a core that I'm not always aware of but connected to; and that's of hope. Helping you, my clients, with your cherished lifecycle events, has been such a gift. Being a part of your celebrations, with your dearest family and friends, sharing my food with your tribe has made LEZA what it is, what I have wanted it to be.
